JOIN THE CONSERVATION TRAINERS NETWORK

A groundbreaking initiative designed to revolutionise conservation training.

WHAT IS THE CONSERVATION TRAINERS NETWORK?

The Conservation Trainers Network is an international coalition of certified Conservation Trainers dedicated to empowering conservation professionals worldwide. Our members deliver vocational courses in essential conservation skills, such as project management, grant writing, and more. We connect every quarter to exchange knowledge, support each other, and share opportunities related to funding, jobs, and collaborations. Together, we also work on enhancing existing courses and co-creating new ones to address emerging needs in the conservation sector.

This Conservation Trainers Network has in part been made possible by funding from the Darwin Initiative.

WHO CAN JOIN?

The network is open to university instructors, consultants, NGO staff, and anyone passionate about training others in vocational conservation skills. Whether you're an academic, a practitioner, or a conservation professional, if you're committed to developing the next generation of conservation leaders, this network is for you.

HOW CAN I JOIN

You can join once you have completed one of our eligible online courses and accessed the corresponding Trainer’s Pack. The Trainer’s Pack gives you the resources and guidance you need to deliver the training to your own students. Once you have access, you’ll be able to join the trainer programme and start using our assessment and certification process with your learners.

HOW DO I BECOME A CERTIFIED CONSERVATION TRAINER?

A conservation trainer is someone who has delivered a WildTeam training course in a class-based setting. There are 3 steps to follow:

STEP 1

Complete the course you want to teach

This gives you firsthand experience with the content and its practical applications.

STEP 2

Access the training pack for the course

This includes everything you need to deliver this course in a classroom setting. This will be available for access through purchase or a bursary, once you have become certified in your subject of choice.

STEP 3

Deliver your first course

With the support of an expert trainer, you’ll deliver your first course. Successful completion will earn you a certification recognised across the conservation field, signifying your proficiency in delivering these skills.

WHAT COURSES CAN I TEACH?

CERTIFICATTION

When you become a Certified Conservation Trainer, you’ll receive an official certificate recognising your achievement and confirming your status as an approved trainer.

You can use this certificate as evidence of your training and your ability to deliver the relevant course to your own students.

Students have also developed sought-after graduate skills, such as problem-solving and critical thinking, for their future careers...

"Embedding WildTeam’s course into one of our modules has allowed the students to apply what they’ve learnt to a real-world problem set by a local conservation organisation.

Through this, the students have also developed sought-after graduate skills, such as problem-solving and critical thinking, for their future careers."
