    EARN YOUR CERTIFICATE

To earn your certificate, you will need to take and pass our exam. This will be a multiple choice exam. Earning your certificate in this way is important to demonstrate to yourself and others (e.g. employers) that you have attained a high standard in this key skill set.

However, the exam is nothing to worry about. If you need more time or any kind of additional support for the exam then the instructor is there to help. Most people pass first time and there is a free retake for anyone that doesn't.

Once you earn your certificate you will be added to our WildTeam global skills directory.

The Grant Writing course was both practical and insightful. I not only learned how to structure and present proposals effectively while communicating ideas clearly, but I also discovered critical preliminary steps to take before the actual writing process—steps I hadn’t considered before but now understand are essential for creating strong and impactful proposals. I believe these skills will significantly enhance my organization’s chances of securing funding for our bird conservation work.

IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR ME?

This course is suitable for anyone who brings groups of people together to collaborate in a conservation context, including:

      • Conservation consultants who design or lead facilitated processes and want a structured best practice framework to underpin their approach.
      • Conservation managers
who convene meetings, workshops, or multi-stakeholder processes and want to make those sessions more productive and inclusive.
      • Organisational leads who want to strengthen the quality of internal collaboration and collective decision-making within their teams or networks.

WHY ARE FACILITATION SKILLS SO IMPORTANT?

Most conservation work happens in groups, and most groups are complicated. Protecting a migratory corridor, managing a shared landscape, or resolving a conflict over natural resources means bringing together people who see the world differently, have competing interests, and sometimes carry decades of distrust. Getting those people to a place where they can think clearly together and make decisions they will actually honour is not something that happens on its own.

What makes the difference, more often than not, is the person running the process. Not the one with the best technical knowledge or the loudest voice, but the one who has prepared well, can hold their neutrality under pressure, knows how to draw out the quiet voices, and can steer a group through disagreement without letting it derail. That is facilitation.

This course offers a structured approach built from real conservation contexts, designed to help you learn the professional facilitation skills that have been developed over decades.
